I utilize a multi-modal approach depending upon the individual or individuals I work with; we collaboratively establish treatment goals that are in line with your aspirations. Client-centered, compassionate and empathetic, I believe in meeting you, the client where you are in the moment. Then slowly we can delve into issues, help you gain insight, learn new coping skills and behavioral patterns, reframe negative beliefs, and create a balanced and meaningful life. I work with children, adolescents, adults and families. Over the years I have worked in a multitude of settings like schools, community clinics, and crisis residential facilities.
In addition to being a therapist, I am also a credentialed teacher. I have taught children in grades TK-12th, in most subjects, in the classroom, in large and small groups as well as one-on-one in alternative settings. I am intimately familiar with the IEP and 504 processes and know how daunting they can be. I have supported families by helping them navigate the educational system. I have helped children and adolescents with issues like depression, anxiety, bullying, self-esteem, emotional regulation, etc. Some of the theoretical modalities I utilize are Play Therapy, Mindfulness, Somatics, Solution-Based, Strength-based, DBT, and CBT.
I look forward to meeting you and seeing if we are a good fit.
