People come to therapy for a variety of reasons including stress, unhappiness, loss, traumatic life experience, problems with emotions or relationships, or difficulty with symptoms such as depression or anxiety. Some come as well for personal growth or for reaching specific life goals. To meet your specific needs and goals, we will first work together on a therapy plan. We may revise the plan as needed as your therapy progresses. Throughout your therapy I will listen carefully and empathetically while also being attuned to your desire for progress and change. My goal is that you will be better able to cope, relate to others, and thrive in the world.
I am a licensed psychologist with training and experience in multiple therapeutic approaches. These include psychodynamic/psychoanalytic psychotherapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing. I will draw upon them as appropriate in my work with you. In addition to general psychotherapy, my training and experience also includes working with specific psychological disorders (depression, bipolar disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, panic disorder, phobias, generalized anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, personality disorders, and schizophrenia).
